Bran Castle

June 3, 2026 - Day Trip

Bran, Brasov County, Romania

Pack your curiosity and your sense of adventure—we’re going to Bran Castle, the place most Americans know as Dracula’s Castle! It’s perched up on a rocky cliff and wrapped in history, mystery, and a whole lot of legend. If you love stories, old castles, or just a really good day trip, this one’s for you.

We’ll drive together through the beautiful Carpathian scenery and make our way to the castle, where there are narrow hallways, hidden staircases, and medieval rooms that totally spark your imagination. Is it spooky? Romantic? Majestic? Probably all of it—you’ll have to see for yourself.

And fair warning—you might want to look up Vlad Țepeș’s history before we go… it definitely adds another layer to the experience. 👀

It’s about a 2.5-hour drive from Sibiu, and transportation and castle tickets are covered, so all you need are comfy shoes, your camera, and your adventurous spirit. We’ll also stop for lunch along the way to enjoy some local food and relax before or after exploring.

Expect amazing views, great company, and maybe a little chill as we wander through one of Romania’s most iconic spots.

Please RSVP by April 1st so we can lock in transportation for all.

Can’t wait to experience this together! 🏰✨

The historical figure Vlad the Impaler, the ruler of the Wallachians, does indeed have a connection with Bran Castle. He led several campaigns to punish German merchants in Braşov, who refused to obey him and pay the taxes to the throne resulting from trade. The path to Wallachia passed through Bran, the pass closest to Brașov, which in turn provided the connection with Târgoviște, the seat of Vlad the Impaler. The customs office where the tolls for passing on this road were collected was located, as it is today, at the foot of Bran Castle, in its western part.
